Benefit Hours

  • During the first 2 years of employment, vacation days are accrued at a rate of 15 days per year. From year 3 to year 19 vacation days are accrued at a rate of 20 days per year. From year 20 and thereafter vacation days are accrued at a rate of 25 days per year.
  • Illness days are accrued at a rate of 10 days per year.
  • Personal days are accrued at a rate of two days per year.

Health Insurance

The Providence Center offers employees individual, two-person and family health benefits (with pre-tax biweekly contributions) through the Blue Cross/Blue Shield of RI - Healthmate Coast-to-Coast plan at the following rates:

 Option 1: $100 deductible for prescriptions

  • Individual Coverage: $26/per pay period
  • Two-person Coverage: $49/per pay period
  • Family Coverage: $60/per pay period

Option 2: $500 deductible for prescriptions

  • Individual Coverage: $21/per pay period
  • Two-person Coverage: $43/per pay period
  • Family Coverage: $53/per pay period

Dental Insurance

The Providence Center offers employees individual, two-person and family plans (with pre-tax, biweekly contributions) through Delta Dental of RI.

  • Individual coverage: $6.50/pay period
  • Two-person coverage: $20/pay period
  • Family coverage: $39/pay period

Contributions for part-time employees are based on hours worked.  Employees must be at least halftime to participate in health and dental plans.

Enrollment in health and dental coverage is effective the first day of the month following the employee's date of hire.

Retirement Plan

Employees begin participation in The Providence Center's retirement plan on the closest July 1 date to their one-year anniversary. To be eligible, employees must be 21 years old and work 975 hours per plan year. The Providence Center contributes a percentage of employees' previous fiscal year earnings based on affordability. Employees become 40% vested after two years and 100% vested after six years.

Life Insurance

Eligible employees are afforded life insurance equal to their annual salary rounded to the next $1,000. Life insurance is free to staff and is effective the first of the month following employment. Employees must work at least halftime to participate.

Long-Term Disability

Eligible employees are afforded LTD insurance that provides an employee approximately 60% of their monthly income should they be out of work for a period longer than six months due to accident or injury. LTD insurance is free to Providence Center employees and is effective the first of the month following six months of employment. Employees must work at least 32.25 hours to participate.

Flexible Benefits Plan

Employees may select a medical reimbursement and/or dependent care assistance account. Employees may withhold up to $2,500 on a pre-tax basis in the medical reimbursement account or up to $5,000 in the dependent care account. A detailed description of the plan is available in Human Resources.

403(b) Plans

403(b) Plans are offered through Fidelity, Mutual of America, Vanguard or USAA Life.

AFLAC

AFLAC offers Providence Center employees supplemental benefit plans such as cancer protection, hospital intensive care, personal accident protection, life insurance and vision care.

Essential Learning

Employees have access to Essential Learning online courses that are designed for behavioral health organizations.

Fitness

Providence Center employees receive a discount membership at the Jewish Community Center, a full fitness facility that includes a pool, whirlpool, sauna, steam room and exercise classes.

Auto Insurance

Providence Center employees are eligible to receive a 10% discounted rate on auto insurance through Liberty Mutual.

Homeowner's Insurance

Providence Center employees are eligible to receive a 5% discounted rate for homeowners insurance through Liberty Mutual.

Sovereign Bank
